County
Prison Records
|
|
There are more than 3500 counties in the
United States, and we can provide County Prison
Records
for all of them. The records are obtained by our researchers
directly from the relevant County Jail.
Virtually every county in the US is available,
although local bylaws and regulations can place
certain restrictions on the type of information
received. We try to keep abreast of local rules,
but with such a large number of counties in the
US there may be differences and changes in the
local laws that we are not currently aware of.
IF there is a problem with the county you
require, then you will be immediately credited
back. County Prison records come with a number
of restrictions. Please see the explanation of
our services below:
Note that we are also able to obtain State and County Prison/Penitentiary
Records or Incarceration
Records for most states in the US,
and we can obtain Federal Records nationwide. We
provide these three types of
records:
-
County
Prison Records, County Jail Records
-
State
Prison Records, Department of Corrections
-
Federal
Prison Records, Federal Bureau of
Prisons
The
type of prison record that you decide to search
for depends on what you know about the person,
and the reasons why you are making a search. If
you don't know which type of record to search for then
either click
here, or call us at 1-800-315-7678.

Release of County Prison records
County
Prison Records are held at the local or county
level. This means that sometimes there are local
bylaws that may restrict the type of information
that they will release.
The information that is released
can vary widely from county to county, but it
usually includes information such as name, age,
and register number, as well as sentencing and
confinement data (offense, date sentenced,
institution of confinement, etc.). But if
you wish to verify that anyone, even a family member or
direct relative, has been convicted of a lesser
crime, i.e. not a felony, then a County Prison
Record search should bring to light any records
that they might have at the County Jail
level.
Who
is a County Jail Inmate?
Almost all perpetrators who are arrested are
first processed and detained in the local county
jail in the area that they are arrested.
Depending on a number of circumstances and the
severity of the crime, they may then be
sentenced and then sent to a state, or rarely, a
Federal penitentiary. However, most inmates
convicted of violating state or local laws are
sent to state prisons or city or county jails.
The range of crimes for which inmates can be
sentenced to County Jails can vary widely from
minor misdemeanors to murder. Inmates sentenced
to work release or other supervised programs are
detained in County jails.
How do I obtain County Prison Records?
To order a copy of an inmate's County Prison or
County Jail Record, click on the order online
link below, or at the top of any page, and fill
in the online form. We will need to know
their name and any other identifying
information that you might have (such as Date of
birth, Social Security Number etc.). The more
information that you can give us, the more
accurately we can search for the records that
you require. As has been pointed out above, you
will be required to affirm that you are a family
member.
