the Difference? Prison vs Criminal record?

for Prison Records for any state, county or
Federal correctional facility in the US will bring up
a prison record ONLY if they were actually sent
to JAIL.
However, a Criminal Record search at the state and county
level will turn up criminal activities
that did NOT result in incarceration. In these criminal
cases, which may have been both felonies and misdemeanors,
the subject may have received parole, a suspended sentence,
community service or simply a fine. They were charged and
prosecuted for a criminal act, BUT never served any jail
time.
